Anywho - our visit went okay. When entering the area in which Santa was sitting, Harper had a breakdown and there was no way she was going to sit on Santa's lap. We did manage to get a pretty cute family picture with all of us and Santa though in which Harper is sitting on my lap. This is the first year Hayden has sat on Santa's lap - well really he sat right next to Santa on Santa's chair. He was very proud of himself. He marked it as a triumphant success declaring that he didn't cry. Indeed it was a success!
Here are the pictures I took as we made our way to Santa's Station:
I took this picture with my camera. Harper was "done" by this point and no longer willing to cooperate - but that's okay. This picture is still a winner!
This is the photographer's picture. Harper might not be smiling, but oh well. It's a family picture and she isn't screaming. Winner!
After seeing Santa, we went and let the kids play at the play area. It was busy, but fun.
Hayden is near the front of this shot - he is smiling and running. He was having a great time. Harper is in the background on top of the turtle. She was also having a lovely time.
When it was time to go, Harper threw an amazingly impressive fit when we wouldn't let her continue playing on a motorized carousel toy. She threw herself on the floor and I had to carry her out as she screamed, cried, and thrashed about. She fussed and cried the whole way home. It was intense!
It wasn't the best end to our evening field trip, but it is what it is. I sortove wish I would have taken a picture - or better yet a video - of her during this tantrum. It really was sensational.
