swimming lessons for hayden - a plea.

Hayden needs to learn how to swim. We have tried group lessons at our local public pool for years. It has not worked - at all. He needs private, individual instruction.

He is apprehensive about the water and going "under." He is also bossy and feisty.

He needs an experienced teacher to work with him and teach him to swim.

I have approached two instructors thus far; unfortunately, they are both unable to teach him because of scheduling conflicts.

I am feeling desperate.

We don't have a pool, so it would be best if the instructor had a pool or had access to one. If needed, we could probably use a friend's pool.

This is really starting to stress me out.

I want my son to be able to swim - to not just be comfortable in the water.

I was on swim teams from the time I was 7-years-old until I was a teenager. It was something that was a part of me. And for him to be so uncomfortable in the water (in terms of swimming) is disconcerting.

I am hopeful that I will find someone soon.

I know Hayden would prefer a young, pretty girl (he loves the ladies) - but I am up for anyone who is capable of teaching my little man how to swim.

So PLEASE send me names/numbers of anyone you know in Fayetteville, Arkansas who can help me. I am serious.

  1. The Y usually offers a private lesson option too. Did you call them?

  2. Hi there, I used to lifegaurd and teach lessons while going to college. Your city should offer private lessons in addition to group lessons. If they don't you shouldn't be shy about asking if any of their instructors teach private lessons - we all did on the side! You could also post an ad on craigslist, but you'll want to make sure the person is CPR certified, etc. Good luck!

  3. I hope you're able to find someone who can help him! I probably should have Bree take lessons too, but I figure between me and my Daddy, we could teach her ourselves...still, it's not a bad idea for me to enroll her either.

  4. Ethan is afraid of going under, too. He loves the water. I planned on swim lessons this summer, but with the new baby, I don't know. Hoping you find someone awesome that Hayden loves!
