first time skating.

These pictures are admittedly awful (in quality), but oh well. Better than nothing I suppose. Last week, we took Hayden to our local skating rink for the first time. He had a lot of fun. He fell (a lot), but he is very resilient (something that I praised him for and am impressed with) and just got back up and tried again. He actually did pretty good considering it was his first time wearing wheels on his feet!

They have these "walker things" with wheels that assist beginner skaters and I think that helped.

Randy and I took turns skating with him (while the other parent watched Harper). I have to admit that I had a GREAT time skating. I didn't fall at all. I used to skate some when I was little and I really enjoyed it. It makes me feel free and liberated. Definitely a good feeling. Plus, it's like exercise. I'm all about some fun, feel-good exercise. My only regret was that I took my skates off 5 minutes too soon, because after I took them off a 'Journey' song came on. I would have LOVED to have skated to some 'Journey' (it was 'Don't Stop Believing'). Maybe next time?Harper had an okay time. She really wanted to walk out on to the skating rink, which is something her mean parents wouldn't let her do. So she was kind of mad about that. All in all though, we had a great time.
