pregnancy picture. 39 weeks and 5 days pregnant.

Today I am 39 weeks and 5 days pregnant. I am ready to go into labor people. I'm just waiting. I had Hayden a day before my due date, so I am hoping Harper decides to come soon.

In general, I am getting around really well. Sleeping at night is the issue. It is my least favorite part of the day (and usually I love myself some sleep).

But it's all for a good cause. I cannot wait to go into labor and see how that all plays out (assuming I do go into labor and I'm not induced). I can't wait to meet my daughter (that sounds so weird). I just can't wait.

39-week appointment.

Earlier today, I had my 39-week OB/GYN appointment.

It went well.

My blood pressure was 102/58 - I swear my blood pressure is amazingly consistent.

Harper's heartbeat was 140 bpm.

The doctor checked to see how much I am dilated. I am now a '2' - so I have progressed a little bit.

My next appointment is May 4th - assuming Harper doesn't make her grand entrance before then. I am hoping that she does. At that appointment we will talk about and schedule an induction (probably for the following day - Thursday, May 5th).

I am optimistic that I will "go on my own" within the next few days. Only time will tell.

some "intimate" pregnancy pictures.

The other morning, Randy took some "intimate" pregnancy pictures of me. There are two that I don't feel comfortable posting online, but all the rest are suitable for public consumption (in my opinion).

Here they are (pretty much in order of my most to least favorite - although I think they are all pretty darn spiffy).
Note: These pictures were taken in our Master Bedroom which is now also Harper's bedroom. That is her "nook" that you see featured in a few of the pictures. We plan on it being her "room" until she is able to sleep in a bed (so until she is about 2-years-old). At that point, she will move to the bottom bunk of the bunk bed (and Hayden will move to the top). In addition, when she is about 3-6 months-old and should start sleeping through the night, we have an additional divider that we will put up to give her (and us) more privacy and allow for more delineation between the two spaces.

a hayden-directed photo shoot.

Last Thursday while we were taking my regular pregnancy picture, Hayden was insistent that I do certain poses.

Here are the results.

First we have the "one hand up, one hand down."
Followed by the "hold my fan like this and push the button. go."
And lastly we have the "put your leg up like this and your hand up like this - action."
Great job Hayden. These poses are definitely rockin'!

our easter 2011.

For Easter, we first celebrated on Saturday with Randy's mom and aunt.

Here are the pictures from that celebration:
Then today (Sunday) we went over to my parents' condo and celebrated Easter again.

38.5-weeks pregnant - compare and contrast.

I'm back again comparing my pregnancy belly with Hayden to my pregnancy belly with Harper.

I've done this twice so far - once at 29 weeks and then again at 34 weeks. I thought it was pretty neat, so here it goes again (for the last time).

First off, here I am about 38.5-weeks pregnant with Hayden:
And here I am now, 38.5-weeks pregnant with Harper: I think I might finally be protruding a little more. I mean, she has to go somewhere - so out she goes.

I don't think I have dropped yet - although I honestly don't remember "dropping" with Hayden. I suppose I did, but I have absolutely no recollection of it ever happening.

38-week appointment.

Earlier today, I had my 38-week OB/GYN appointment.

It went well.

My blood pressure was 104/58 - still consistent.

Harper's heartbeat was 150 bpm.

I had lost a pound since my last appointment and actually according to my "measurements", I haven't gained any weight in about a month - meaning that overall (at this point) I have gained about 23 pounds. Being uncomfortable in your body and having your stomach compressed can make it difficult to pack on the pounds. I do plan on eating some ice cream, brownies, and other yummy treats soon, so that should impact the total weight gain.

The doctor checked to see how much I am dilated. I am still a '1' - apparently Harper is quite content with her current home. Maybe by next week there will be some change? Or maybe she will decide to come before then - who knows?

My next appointment is April 27th.

I plan on taking another pregnancy picture later this week so look for that in an upcoming post.

the pink lady.

I have been trying to eat more fruit. Well, I have been trying to eat fruit in general. I am picky. Very picky. I don't eat any vegetables (although I will eat mushy vegetables in a soup as well as tomato soup). I don't eat any seafood. I don't eat hardly any fruit. I do eat smoothies that have fruit in them.

I have been trying to eat healthier though and I did some research regarding what fruit I might be willing to consume. I finally decided that apples could work, so I then researched apples.

There are a lot of different kinds of apples, and they do not taste the same. Like I said, I am picky. Thus far, I have only found one apple that I like: the pink lady. I like it a lot though. It is crisp and sweet and yummy.

Apparently, it is one of the more expensive apples - my bad for apparently having expensive taste in apples.

Furthermore, I find the name amusing - pink lady. There is just something about it that makes me giggle. Gotta love the pink lady!

egg dying and randy's bday at the condo.

Last night (only 2 days after Hayden had his tonsils/adenoids removed) we went over to my parents' home to dye Easter eggs and to celebrate Randy's birthday (which is tomorrow- the 17th).

We had a good time.

Here are some pictures documenting our Easter egg dying party/Randy's celebratory birthday dinner.

update on tonsil and adenoid removal.

Wednesday, Hayden had his tonsils and adenoids removed.

The procedure went well and he is now home recovering. We arrived at the surgery center at 7:30am and we were released later that day at 12:45pm.

He has been a little whiny, tired, and grumpy - but overall, he is doing really well.

He is eating some (popsicles, Easy Mac, yogurt, ice cream, bananas, a cookie, bread, even turkey). It's actually been harder to get him to drink. I have had to force him to drink water. I know it doesn't feel good, but it's important so I can be the "mean mommy" and make him drink it (and he does).

He was prescribed Tylenol with Codeine, but I think the Codeine made him feel yucky - so I have been giving him just regular Tylenol. It seems to be doing the trick.

His throat does hurt, but it doesn't seem like it's excrutiating so that's good.

His doctor did note that both his tonsils and adenoids were extremely large - so it seems like we made the right decision in having them removed.

All in all, I would deem this a definite success. And now here are some pictures we took to document the procedure.

Enjoy.
