peter the rabbit.

I saw a rabbit yesterday morning. It made my day. Is that odd? I have never seen a rabbit in my yard before and it was just so cute and fluffy. I decided to name him Peter.

Then later, I saw him again. I was so excited! I hope I see him again… although I then watched Peter hop across the street. This is not a good sign. Obviously he isn’t very cautious. I seriously hope he doesn’t get hit by a car. I honestly think I would cry if I saw him dead on our road. Seriously. I would lose it.

So Peter... please be safe. Don’t become roadkill.

  1. Nope, not odd at all. LOL!! We have a bunny who lives in our neighborhood and I get all giddy every time I see it. He's so cute and I think he's a sign of good luck!

  2. If he turns into roadkill you could just make rabbit soup..okay..that was harsh, but it was the first thing I thought of..;-)

With you looking out for him, I'm sure he'll be fine. I love it when I see rabbits!

  4. We have rabbits in our yard all the time - in fact in the spring Dylan ran over a next of babies with the lawn mower - no casualties, thank goodness! They were so sweet. I actually saw "our" rabbit on my carport the other day! Hopefully he will be cautious enough and come visit again soon! :)

  7. We have alot of rabbits this year! they are in the yard all the time. ENJOY!! Your an animal person like me. I saw a dead woodpecker on the street dead last week, I asked my neighbor, who does things like this, if she would come and pick it up for me! LOL she did, she didn't care. I hated seeing it laying in the road. I have TONS of chipmunks this year too!

  9. We have bunnies here. But they don't come near the house. And no, nothing nerdy or geeky about naming him. If I didn't, my kids would! haha. See if you can get a picture.

My chat room is up and running, come on over to my blog if you want to stop by.

  12. Nothing sadder than a dead rabbit on the road...except a dead duck. That's really sad too.

  13. You're so silly! We see rabbits in our yard all of the time. Unfortunately some of them do get hit in the street though. The boys love to chase the rabbits through the yard. They once named two baby rabbits Ketchup and Pickles...he he!

  18. We have bunnies in our yard all the time and I am always telling the neighbors... "don't shoot the bunnies, send them to my yard, they can eat my plants!!" cause down here they shoot everything :(

  19. In a previous neighborhood we lived in there were greenbelts everywhere, specifically in between lanes of the roads in the neighborhood. The poor bunnies bred like, well - rabbits, so it was like an infestation. They were so cute and wonderful but a day didn't go by without seeing one flattened on the road because there were SO MANY. I hope your sweet bun bun keeps his tail safe!!!
