Do you like feeling busy? I don’t. I absolutely hate it.
I like having breaks: having unplanned time in which I can do absolutely nothing. I like having lots of those moments. I thrive on them.
When I am busy and have a lot on my plate, I feel overwhelmed and drained. I posted something on 'Facebook' saying that I was busy and that I wanted a break and someone said that they actually love being really busy. Seriously? People actually like being really busy? Who? I can’t imagine.
A constantly full calendar with activities and events every day weighs on me. I feel as if I can’t breathe and I yearn for relief: for a break in the action.
And apparently for other people they thrive on this sort of thing – which honestly baffles me.
It really is hard for me to imagine. As I yearn for my respite someone else is craving more action. Amazing. Absolutely amazing.
I like being that busy at work thats about it. At home no thanks. We both work combined a hundred hours a week so just with the stuff that needs to Get done around the house makes us busy.
ReplyDeleteHey I got to you first!!! ;)
And I'm second!
ReplyDeleteI hate being busy---it wears me out. BUT! I DO plan my days to break up some of the busyness that crops up. I'm not so overwhelmed that way. Hope you can have some time today just to sit and stare out the window! :-)
I get really overwhelmed, too. I can only handle so much before everything starts falling apart.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can get a break soon!
I'm with Ian...I like to be relatively busy at work (not swamped, but busy) and then at home I like to be less busy. But I don't like too much downtime or else I get bored! ;)
ReplyDeleteI really don't like being busy. I feel like i'm spread too thin and must move as fast as possible to get it all done so I can breathe
ReplyDeleteI have been soooo very busy with appointments this week, walking streets and carrying kids on my back-busy! NO. Let me Breathe too damn it!
ReplyDeletehmm, i think i do like being busy. but i can truly appreciate taking time out too. I guess it depends! :)
ReplyDeleteI hate being busy too. I need time for nothing to happen as well.
ReplyDeleteHope you get a break soon!
ReplyDeleteYesterday afternoon was the first afternoon in a few weeks where I didn't have anything to do...I actually got kinda bored & I used to thrive for those afternoons with nothing to do. What is wrong with me?!
ReplyDeleteI'm on the fence. I love being busy at work because it makes the day go by faster. And I like being busy when I'm off work because it makes me feel useful. But then some days I'd just rather be taking a nap. This is one of those days.
ReplyDeleteI only like being busy at work, but other than that I prefer to live a stress free boring life. It seems as though we are constantly busy and I am just exhausted. I hope you get a break soon.
ReplyDeleteEmily started softball season last week and we are already tired. 2 - 2 hour practices at night! One is on a Sunday! Sunday is a major family rest/play night :-((
ReplyDeleteI like to be busy during the day, but after dinner is my rest time - I do not like having to go out.
Um, I shudder at the thought of being busy and stressed. I'm a carefree type of girl--I thrive in that :)
ReplyDeletexoxo
We like having nothing to do other than be with each other (Craig, me and the girls). that's busy enough for us!
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong, I love my free time to do whatever, but sometimes I love being busy. Good busy like visiting family, out with friends, shopping. Not bad busy.. like work and errands and such.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on being busy. I am not a fan. I like having just enough to do so that the day doesn't dragg, but I hate feeling stressed out.
ReplyDeleteHope things slow down for you!
When I'm at work, I like it to be busy because that makes the day go by much faster!
ReplyDeleteOther than that, I hate busy! I despise even having more than one thing to do on the weekend. Unfortunately though, I can't escape busy. Tonight is the only night my daughter doesn't have an after school activity...this is way too much for a first grader and for a 30 year old stressed out Mom!
We are so different! I love to be busy! It's one thing if I'm what I'm doing isn't fun, but I shy away from the things that I don't find interesting. Don't get me wrong- I love a day to sit around and catch up on my DVR, but day to day- I have something planned pretty much every day after work. I guess I'm one of the one's you can't figure out.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally with you.
ReplyDeleteBut my kids like to be busy. I'm trying to teach them that it's ok to be quiet, that quiet time is necessary for the soul. That days can be spent at home with imaginations and good books and art supplies ;)
We've been busy a lot recently, and I need a mental vacation!
