hayden and yogurt.

Hayden likes yogurt – a lot. And being that I think yogurt is relatively good for you, I indulge him in his yogurt proclivity.

However, yogurt can be messy and I don’t do messy. I try to keep things as clean as possible (I realize this isn't necessarily a good thing, but it is what it is).

As soon as Hayden developed this love for yogurt, I found 'Yoplait’s Thick & Creamy Yogurt'. This stuff is great for neat-freaks like me! It is so thick that it doesn't run off the spoon. It stays on the spoon until it reaches Hayden’s mouth (and that is a great thing in my book).

A quirky thing about Hayden and his love for yogurt is the flavors he prefers. He doesn't do ‘Strawberry’ or ‘Strawberry-Banana’ or even ‘Mixed Fruit’. No, my son’s favorite flavors are ‘Key Lime Pie’, ‘Orange Crème’, and ‘Lemon Meringue’.

And his most favorite flavor is -‘Cherry Cobbler’. He loves it.During one memorable trip to our local Walmart, they were out of his beloved ‘Cherry Cobbler’ yogurt. Hayden started to cry. I kid you not. It was so sad.

Fortunately he got over it quickly – and we were able to resume our grocery shopping tear-free.

Note: The yogurt we get is the ‘Light’ variety only because the flavors he likes are only available in the ‘Light’ type – not because we are counting the amount of calories Hayden consumes.

  2. Haha Spencer is also a yogurt junkie! I loves YoBaby! He likes to look at the baby on the container and we like that it is organic, free of high fructose corn syrup, and high in DHA and Vitamin D! He eats so much that we asked hi doc if it was ok and doc said absolutely.
I love Yoplait Red Velvet Cake flavor is yummmy:)

  3. :)

Agree with Lisa, the YoBaby is good. Also Breyers makes that Pooh/Cars/Toy Story yogurt that's thick and stays on the spoon you ought to try

    I hate messy too.

  6. Kids are so quirky! I've actually never seen those before. Although, Greek style yogurt has that thick texture and it's disturbing to me. :) How awesome that your son likes something that's actually good for him!

  7. I eat at least two Yoplait Light's a day myself...my favorite is Strawberry, but the Cherry Cobbler is very good as well!! I don't do milk, so I do yogurt to get in my calcium.

  8. I used to love those Yoplait Yogurts, and 2 of my favorite were the Key Lime & Lemon Meringue as well :) The Thick and Creamy Yogurt always had the texture of a pie or something. Very good!

  9. Kieran is almost 2, and when I give him yogurt, he thinks it's some kind of lotion. He rubs it ALL OVER any exposed skin. I kid you not.

  10. Yum! Grace only likes the Whips kind (Yoplait). Always has... she is a fan of the key lime and the lemon pie (something like that).
    YUM!

  12. I think it's great that he loves yogurt! My boys love it too, and I buy it for them often, however I'm not a big fan. Have you tried Moo tubes? My boys love those and you can freeze them and give them to him like Popsicles! :)

  14. Maya loves yogurt, and I just recently found out that Ruby likes it too but it sure is a freaking MESS when she feeds herself. I will have to try the thick and creamy kind, but with her being only one I doubt she will stay clean. Maybe a little more clean. I'll take that.

  15. Thanks for the email this morning! I had to comment on this post, too, because I just posted a yogurt post on one of my blogs (The Chronicles of Miles) yesterday. I hate messy, too, but sometimes messy has to happen ;)
