goodbye Campus Center.

I’m not sure if everyone who reads my blog is aware of my job. Aside from taking care of Hayden, I have also been working part-time as the Program Manager at the ‘Campus Center’ at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. (The Campus Center is a Presbyterian and Disciples of Christ affiliated organization.) My mom has been the Campus Minister, while I was sort of her side-kick… basically, I interacted and hung out with college students.

I write this in the past-tense because this past Wednesday was pretty much my last day… it was also my mom’s last day. We were only there on an interim basis, and the time has come for them to hire a permanent person to fill the position of 'Campus Minister' (and this is a GOOD thing!). We had been there for about 2 ½ years… a relatively long period of time.

The students that I have worked with over the years were wonderful! They were all incredible people, and I will miss them a lot - although, I plan on continuing my relationship with many of them.

Without this job, I will miss two things: the students and the money. The money was great. It supplemented our income well. And as previously mentioned, the students were wonderful as well. Not having the job though will free up some of my time, which is nice. So, goodbye Campus Center… it was good.

Goodnight and Good Luck.

  2. "that's right...I dropped a smile on it. true" hahahaha, sorry, I had to get my laughter in control after that. But I tend to think you will find plenty of ways to spend the newly opened up time slots you will now have. It seems like the perfect timing, with Hayden 'becoming a big boy', building the new home, Peace at Home, etc.

And I'm amazed that you are blogging while away in Dallas -- that's great dedication (& you know we love reading)! I would have 'dropped' a smiley face here, but don't want to tread on Randy's territory, ha ha.

  3. Congrats on getting to close that chapter and have a little more time for you and Hayden during the day. I'm sure you'll find lots of ways to fill it! :-)
