Randy and I are years away from a possible Baby # 2. We are thinking that we may start trying sometime after April 2010. We are wanting to make sure the house will be finished by the time another child comes along. In addition, I have responsibilities that I have obligated myself to that I would like to complete without being “hindered” by a newborn. That sounds awful, but it’s true. Newborns require a great deal of time and effort and I want to make sure that Randy and I are in a place in our lives in which we are ready for that commitment.
Hopefully once we start trying we will be “successful”… but who knows?
Anywho, so here is where the baby names and possible (well, more likely probable) weirdness comes into play. I often think about our potential child’s name. I mean, we are at least a year away from even trying to have another baby, but here I am researching and writing down names that I like.
You (meaning whoever is reading this) are more than likely not interested in my baby name lists (one list for girl names, one list for boy names), but I am going to share them with you anyway.
(note: I am pretty much sold on Amelia… the middle name no matter what will be Grace)
(note: There are obviously WAY more boy names than girl names… this is because I really would like to have a girl and I basically know what I would like to name her. With boy names, I am desperate to find a name that I like (I think that would make me feel more comfortable with the fact that I may very well have another boy)… we have no “leads” as to what either the first or middle name would be… although Randy fancies ‘Bennett’ – I think ‘Bennett’ sounds pretentious though… I am also concerned that ‘Harrison’ combined with ‘Hayden’ is silly and dorky… maybe not a good combination?)
I would also like to add (if you haven’t already figured it out) that Randy is totally in on this discussion and has assisted me in my (well really our) list (letting me know which names he does and doesn’t like – the ones he doesn’t like get nixed… Lucas, Miles, Griffen).
Randy doesn’t think this whole “baby name conjecture thing” is weird… but I’m not so sure (as to whether it’s weird or not).
